Immunotherapy in Neuroendocrine Carcinoma of the Cervix
An observational study of Cervical Neuroendocrine Carcinoma, run by Peking Union Medical College Hospital at 1 site in China.
Trial summary
This retrospective study reviews existing medical records. No new treatments or tests are given. The study asks how well immunotherapy worked for people with a rare cancer called neuroendocrine carcinoma of the cervix. Immunotherapy is a treatment that helps the body's immune system fight cancer. Read more about this study

Study population: The study population will be selected from patients diagnosed with neuroendocrine carcinoma of the cervix who received PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitor-based immunotherapy at Peking Union Medical College Hospital between January 2020 and December 2026. Eligible participants will be identified through retrospective review of medical records. Inclusion criteria include: age ≥18 years; histologically confirmed cervical neuroendocrine carcinoma (small cell, large cell, or mixed type); received at least one cycle of PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitor-based immunotherapy; and availability of complete clinical records including baseline characteristics, treatment regimen, efficacy assessment, and survival follow-up. Patients with severely incomplete key clinical data or those who participated in other interventional clinical trials that may affect efficacy or survival assessment will be excluded. A total of approximately 150 eligible patients will be included.
Who may be able to join
- Age ≥ 18 years at the time of diagnosis;
- Histopathologically confirmed diagnosis of neuroendocrine carcinoma of the cervix (NECC), including small cell type, large cell type, and mixed type;
- Received at least one cycle of immune checkpoint inhibitor-based therapy targeting the PD-1/PD-L1 pathway;
- Complete medical records, detailed treatment regimens, and available efficacy evaluation data;
Who cannot join
- Did not meet all of the above inclusion criteria;
- Key clinical data severely missing, making it impossible to extract valid informationinformation.

About this study
Official title: Efficacy of Immunotherapy in Neuroendocrine Carcinoma of the Cervix: A Retrospective Study
This retrospective study reviews existing medical records. No new treatments or tests are given. The study asks how well immunotherapy worked for people with a rare cancer called neuroendocrine carcinoma of the cervix. Immunotherapy is a treatment that helps the body's immune system fight cancer. The investigators will review the records of approximately 150 participants treated with immunotherapy for this cancer. The study will evaluate: (1) how long participants lived without the cancer getting worse; (2) how long participants lived overall; (3) whether the cancer shrank or stopped growing; (4) what side effects occurred, especially immune-related side effects; and (5) whether certain tumor markers or different treatment plans made a difference. Participants will not be contacted or asked to complete any procedures. Only information already contained in medical records will be used. Names and other personal details will be removed to protect privacy. The study has been approved by the ethics committee at Peking Union Medical College Hospital. The results may help doctors choose the best treatment for patients with this rare cancer. Results will be shared in medical journals and at medical meetings. For patients and families: This study does not enroll new participants. Questions about this cancer or immunotherapy should be directed to a physician.

What participants receive
What participants receive. In a randomised study each person is assigned to one group by chance.
No study intervention; observational study.Other
The exposure was PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitor-based immunotherapy, including monotherapy or combination with chemotherapy and/or anti-angiogenic agents. Treatment was given as routine clinical care, not assigned by the study.

What is being measured
The primary outcome is the main question the study is designed to answer.
Progression-free survival
Measured: From the date of initiation of immunotherapy to the date of first documented disease progression or the date of death from any cause, whichever occurs first, assessed up to 60 months; participants alive and without documented progression will be censored

How can a doctor refer a patient or contact the research team?
Contact Lei Li (86-139-1198-8831, lileigh@163.com), or a site near the patient. AzTrials does not enrol participants or take referrals.
What does the primary outcome measure?
Progression-free survival (time frame: From the date of initiation of immunotherapy to the date of first documented disease progression or the date of death from any cause, whichever occurs first, assessed up to 60 months; participants alive and without documented progression will be censored). It is what the study was designed to measure, not a finding.
Where can I read the original study information?
Does a listing mean the treatment is approved or proven to work?
No. A listing means the study is registered. It does not show that the treatment is safe, works, or is approved by a regulator.
How often is this information updated?
AzTrials copies changed records from ClinicalTrials.gov every night and reloads the whole registry every week. The sponsor last updated this record on 2 Nov 2026.
