Prognostic Value of Isolated and Combined Score Aspects in Acute Ischemic Stroke
An observational study of Stroke, Ischemic and Thrombectomy, run by Centre Hospitalier de Gonesse at 1 site in France.
Trial summary
This study, called TARGET-ASPECT, looks at patients who had a type of stroke called acute ischemic stroke and were treated with clot-busting medicine and a procedure to remove the clot. Even with these treatments, about half of patients don't fully recover. Read more about this study

Key requirements
Who can take part, as listed by the sponsor. Only the study team can confirm whether you are eligible, so take this list to your doctor.
- Ages 18 years and older
- All sexes
- Adult, Older adult
Study population: The study population consists of adult patients (aged 18 and over) who have experienced an acute ischemic stroke confirmed by imaging. These patients have undergone combined treatment with thrombolysis (clot-busting medication) and thrombectomy (mechanical clot removal). They are selected from a single medical center where detailed clinical and imaging follow-up data, including functional outcomes at 90 days, are available. Participants must have adequate-quality imaging and not have experienced early death or loss to follow-up before evaluation.
Who may be able to join
- Patients aged 18 years or older
- Confirmed acute ischemic stroke on imaging
- Treated with both thrombolysis and thrombectomy
- Clinical follow-up data available at 90 days (mRS score)
Who cannot join
- Primary hemorrhagic stroke
- Early death or loss to follow-up without evaluation
- Poor-quality imaging that cannot be analyzed

About this study
Official title: TARGET-ASPECT (Prognostic Value of Isolated and Combined Score Aspects in Acute Ischemic Stroke)
This study, called TARGET-ASPECT, looks at patients who had a type of stroke called acute ischemic stroke and were treated with clot-busting medicine and a procedure to remove the clot. Even with these treatments, about half of patients don't fully recover. The study aims to see if certain brain imaging scores, especially when combined, can better predict how well patients will recover 90 days after their stroke and if their blood vessels reopen successfully. The study will include 152 patients and last about 9 months. The goal is to find easy and reliable tools that doctors can use to make better treatment decisions.

- Stroke, Ischemic, Thrombectomy, Thrombolytic Therapy, Brain Ischemia, Prognosis, Magnetic Resonance Imaging

- Ischemic Stroke, Brain Ischemia
What is being measured
The primary outcome is the main question the study is designed to answer.
Favorable functional outcome defined as a mRS score of 0 to 2 at 90 days
Measured: 90 days

Questions about this trial
What is this clinical trial studying?
An observational study of Stroke, Ischemic and Thrombectomy, run by Centre Hospitalier de Gonesse at 1 site in France.
The full registered description is in the About this study section and the official record.
Who may be eligible to take part?
The sponsor lists 4 inclusion and 3 exclusion criteria. Eligibility is decided by the study team after screening, so read the full criteria and contact a listed site.
Is this clinical trial currently recruiting?
The record says: looking for participants now, as of the sponsor's last update on 16 Jul 2025. Status can change between updates, so confirm with the study contact before making plans.
Where is the study taking place?
The record lists 1 site in France. Whether a site is taking part right now should be confirmed with that site. See every site.
What are the possible benefits and risks?
They depend on the study and the treatment, and no study can promise a benefit. The study team explains the known risks during informed consent, before anyone joins; the record itself does not list them.
Are results available for this study?
This study is still under way. Results are not available in the source record yet.
How can a doctor refer a patient or contact the research team?
Each site lists its own contact: choose the nearest one under Trial locations. AzTrials does not enrol participants or take referrals.
What does the primary outcome measure?
Favorable functional outcome defined as a mRS score of 0 to 2 at 90 days (time frame: 90 days). It is what the study was designed to measure, not a finding.
Where can I read the original study information?
Does a listing mean the treatment is approved or proven to work?
No. A listing means the study is registered. It does not show that the treatment is safe, works, or is approved by a regulator.
How often is this information updated?
AzTrials copies changed records from ClinicalTrials.gov every night and reloads the whole registry every week. The sponsor last updated this record on 16 Jul 2025.
