Clinical trials: Diaphragm Injury, active
Diaphragm Injury
Janus Kinase Inhibition to Prevent Ventilator-induced Diaphragm Dysfunction
We intend, with this study, to prove that blocking the molecular mechanisms whose blockade prevents VIDD in animals, will indeed prevent the development of VIDD in humans as well.

Abdominal Injury, Pelvic Fracture
Developing a Decision Instrument to Guide Abdominal-pelvic CT Imaging of Blunt Trauma Patients
Unrecognized abdominal and pelvic injuries can result in catastrophic disability and death. Sporadic reports of "occult" injuries have generated concern, and physicians, fearing that they may miss such an injury, have adopted the…

Ventilator Lung, Ventilator-Induced Lung Injury
Phrenic Identification in the ICU
This will be a prospective observational study where the investigator will scan patients' necks with an ultrasound and look for anatomical landmarks that may help identify the phrenic nerve.
- Conditions
- Ventilator Lung, Ventilator-Induced Lung Injury, Diaphragm Disease, Phrenic Nerve
- Trial name
- NCT05875883

Diaphragm Injury, Respiratory Failure
Diaphragm Structure and Pathobiology in Patients Being Bridged to Lung Transplant
This study is designed to characterize the changes in diaphragm structure, function and biology during bridging to lung transplant by mechanical ventilation or extracorporeal life support.
- Conditions
- Diaphragm Injury, Respiratory Failure, Mechanical Ventilation Complication
- Trial name
- DIASPORA (NCT03667027)

- Canada
- Volunteers
- 40 people

Respiratory Insufficiency, Diaphragm Injury
Feasibility of Reducing Respiratory Drive Using the Through-flow System
Mechanical ventilation can lead to diaphragm and lung injury. During mechanical ventilation, the diaphragm could be completely rested or it could be overworked, either of which may cause diaphragm injury.
- Conditions
- Respiratory Insufficiency, Diaphragm Injury, Lung Injury
- Trial name
- Throughflow (NCT05642832)
- Testing
- Throughflow titration phase
- Where
- Canada
- Volunteers
- 15 people
- Sponsor
