About this study
Official title: ANCILLARY STUDY No. 3 TO RIPH C16-56: THE NS-PARK COHORT AIMED AT IDENTIFYING BIOMARKERS FOR PARKINSON'S DISEASE
The goal of this clinical study is to identify biomarkers associated with Parkinson's disease (PD) progression in PD patients, participants at-risk of developing PD (e.g., a person who does not have the disease but carrying a mutation known to be related to the disease or a person with a prodromal form as iRBD for example), as well as healthy volunteers. The working hypothesis of this study is that patients with Parkinson's disease can be stratified into etiological subgroups through the integration of omics data. Combining molecular signatures with longitudinal clinical and phenotypic data from the NS-PARK cohort will enable the development of disease progression models grounded in the pathophysiological mechanisms of Parkinson's disease. Researchers will compare the data with those from healthy volunteers to determine whether the findings are specific to PD, as some biomarkers may reflect broader processes related to neurodegeneration, aging, or comorbidities.
In this ancillary study, in addition to the NS-PARK cohort assessments, participants will be proposed to do, during one visit:
- A lumbar puncture
- A blood draw
- A urine collection
- An olfactory test
- A more detailed neuropsychological assessment

- PARKINSON DISEASE (Disorder)
- Being tested
- lumbar puncture

What participants receive
What participants receive. In a randomised study each person is assigned to one group by chance.
lumbar punctureProcedure or surgery
A 15 mL cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) sample will be collected from each participant by lumbar puncture (LP) for research purposes, after confirming the absence of any contraindications. The LP will be performed by an experienced physician, with the participant lying down. An atraumatic needle and catheter will be used to minimize the risk of post-lumbar puncture syndrome. The sample will be collected using standard equipment.
| Study group | Role | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
| Patients | Patients from the NS-PARK cohort, carrying or not mutation in a gene known to be associated to PD Receives: Procedure: lumbar puncture | |
| At-risk | Individuals at-risk of developing Parkinson's disease enrolled in the NS-PARK cohort: individuals who are related to a patient with PD, unaffected carriers of a mutation in a gene known to be associated with PD, or individuals with prodromal features of the disease such as isolated REM sleep behavior disorder (RBD). Receives: Procedure: lumbar puncture | |
| Controls | Healthy volunteers Receives: Procedure: lumbar puncture |
What is being measured

The full registered description is in the About this study section and the official record.
Who may be eligible to take part?
The sponsor lists 13 inclusion and 4 exclusion criteria. Eligibility is decided by the study team after screening, so read the full criteria and contact a listed site.
Is this clinical trial currently recruiting?
The record says: opening soon, as of the sponsor's last update on 22 Sep 2026. Status can change between updates, so confirm with the study contact before making plans.
Where is the study taking place?
The record lists 1 site in France. Whether a site is taking part right now should be confirmed with that site. See every site.
What are the possible benefits and risks?
They depend on the study and the treatment, and no study can promise a benefit. The study team explains the known risks during informed consent, before anyone joins; the record itself does not list them.
Are results available for this study?
This study is still under way. Results are not available in the source record yet.
How can a doctor refer a patient or contact the research team?
Contact Pr Jean-Christophe CORVOL (+33 1 42 16 57 66, jean-christophe.corvol@aphp.fr), or a site near the patient. AzTrials does not enrol participants or take referrals.
What does the primary outcome measure?
Biomarkers associated with PD progression (time frame: At inclusion). It is what the study was designed to measure, not a finding.
Where can I read the original study information?
Does a listing mean the treatment is approved or proven to work?
No. A listing means the study is registered. It does not show that the treatment is safe, works, or is approved by a regulator.
How often is this information updated?
AzTrials copies changed records from ClinicalTrials.gov every night and reloads the whole registry every week. The sponsor last updated this record on 22 Sep 2026.
