Clinical trials: Sarcoma Retroperitoneal
Liposarcoma
Assessment of Helical Tomotherapy Radiotherapy (54 Gy) Followed by Surgery in Retro-peritoneal Liposarcoma
Retro peritoneal liposarcomas are rare (less than 15% of sarcomas) whose prognosis is locoregional. In the treatment of retroperitoneal liposarcomas main prognostic factor is the quality of the surgical resection.

Pilot Study of Hyperthermic Peritoneal Perfusion (HIPEC) for Adolescent and Young Adults With Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor
The goal of this clinical research study is to learn if heated intra-abdominal cisplatin can help to control abdominal tumors in patients having surgery to remove the tumors. The safety of this drug will also be studied.
- Trial name
- NCT01277744
- Testing
- Hyperthermic Peritoneal Perfusion (HIPEC), Cisplatin

Retroperitoneal Sarcoma
Repeat or Single Quadratus Lumborum Block for the Reduction of Opioid Prescriptions After Surgery in Retroperitoneal Sarcoma Patients ("RESQU-SARC" Trial)
This phase II trial studies how well a repeat or single liposomal bupivacaine injection (quadratus lumborum block) works in reducing opioid prescriptions after surgery in patients with retroperitoneal sarcoma.

High Dose Ascorbate With Preoperative Radiation in Patients With Locally Advanced Soft Tissue Sarcomas
This is a single-arm open-label phase Ib/II clinical study assessing the efficacy of concurrent high dose ascorbate in combination with radiotherapy in patients with locally advanced, resectable, high grade sarcomas.

Sarcoma
Surgery With or Without Radiation Therapy in Untreated Nonmetastatic Retroperitoneal Sarcoma
RATIONALE: Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells. Giving radiation therapy before surgery may make the tumor smaller and reduce the amount of normal tissue that needs to be removed.
- Trial name
- STRASS (NCT01344018)
- Testing
- therapeutic conventional surgery, 3-dimensional conformal radiation therapy
- Where
- 37 sites in United States, Belgium and 11 more
