About this study
Official title: Living Between Fear and Uncertainty: The Lived Experiences of Women Diagnosed With HPV Infection - A Phenomenological Study
This qualitative phenomenological study aims to explore the lived experiences of women diagnosed with human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. The study will examine women's emotional responses to the diagnosis, its perceived effects on daily life, sexual life and partner relationships, their experiences of disclosing the diagnosis, and their information and support needs. Eligible women diagnosed with HPV infection will participate in individual semi-structured interviews. The interview data will be analyzed thematically to identify common themes reflecting participants' experiences and perceptions.
Read the detailed description
This study is designed as a qualitative phenomenological study to gain an in-depth understanding of the lived experiences of women diagnosed with HPV infection. Participants will be adult women with a confirmed HPV diagnosis who meet the eligibility criteria and provide written informed consent.
Data will be collected through individual face-to-face semi-structured interviews. The interview guide explores participants' experiences from the time of HPV diagnosis, emotional responses, perceived effects on daily and sexual life, partner relationships and disclosure experiences, concerns regarding future health, experiences with healthcare professionals, and perceived information and support needs. Interviews are expected to last approximately 30-45 minutes and will be audio-recorded with participants' permission.
Data collection will continue until data saturation is achieved, with approximately 15-20 participants anticipated. Interview recordings will be transcribed and analyzed thematically. Participant identities will be protected through coding, and personally identifying information will not be included in the analysis or reporting of the findings.
