Study population: The study group will consist of students enrolled in the specified schools. A medium effect size (Cohen's d = 0.50) was used as a reference for this study. Power analysis was conducted using the G*Power 3.1.9.6 software. The analysis employed an independent samples t-test to examine the difference between two independent groups, based on a two-tailed hypothesis, an effect size of 0.50, a power of 80% (1-β = 0.80), a significance level of 0.05 (α = 0.05), and an allocation ratio of 1:1 between the groups. The calculations indicated that a total sample size of 128 students (64 in the intervention group and 64 in the control group) would be sufficient for the study.
Who may be able to join
- Being a student enrolled in the relevant schools
- Having obtained a parental consent form
- Possessing the cognitive ability to follow the program (i.e., not being a student in an inclusive/mainstreamed education setting for special needs)
Who cannot join
- Unwillingness to participate in the study
- Absence of parental consent
- Having special educational needs (e.g., visual or hearing impairments, or any health condition that would prevent the completion of questionnaires)
- Having previously received training on peer bullying
- Withdrawal Criteria
- Missing two or more sessions of the training program
- Choosing to withdraw from the study after having already begun participation

About this study
Official title: Early Detection and Kinetic Trajectory of Sepsis-Induced Coagulopathy in Severe Burn Patients: A Prospective Single-Center Observational Cohort Study
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of an avatar-supported, teacher-student interactive, vodcast-based peer bullying prevention program-developed for adolescents-on students' ability to identify peer bullying, their experiences with bullying, fighting, and victimization, and their levels of empathy.
Designed as a non-randomized controlled study (quasi-experimental), this research will be conducted between October 2026 and December 2026 with students attending two public middle schools under the Ministry of National Education in the city center of Nevşehir. Based on an analysis using the G*Power (v3.1.9.7) software-with parameters set at an effect size of 0.5, a significance level of 0.05, and a test power of 0.80-the sample size has been determined to be 128 students in total, with 64 students in each of the experimental and control groups. Data will be collected using the "Student Demographic Information Form," the "Peer Bullying Identification Scale (Adolescent Form)," the "Illinois Bullying, Fighting, and Victimization Scale," and the "Empathy Scale for Children," all of which will be prepared by the researcher. During the intervention phase, the experimental group will watch five avatar-supported, teacher-student interactive vodcasts (educational video content), while the control group will receive no intervention. Data analysis will involve the Independent Samples t-test, as well as the Pearson Chi-square and Fisher's Exact tests for categorical data. A Mixed-Design Analysis of Variance (Mixed ANOVA) will be used to compare variables across follow-up time points, and the Bonferroni correction will be applied when comparing main effects. A p-value of <0.05 will be considered statistically significant; ethical principles will be strictly upheld throughout the study, with a focus on obtaining parental consent and ensuring the voluntary participation of students.

What participants receive
What participants receive. In a randomised study each person is assigned to one group by chance.
Vodcast-Based Peer Bullying InterventionBehavioural
Students in the intervention group will participate in a vodcast-based peer bullying prevention program, consisting of five sessions-one session per week. As part of the program, vodcasts covering a different theme related to peer bullying will be presented each week within the school setting, in a quiet and suitable classroom environment designed to minimize distractions. The sessions will be conducted under the supervision of the researcher, ensuring that all students watch the vodcasts under consistent technical conditions. Each session will last approximately 20 minutes; during the first part, students will watch that week's vodcast, followed by a discussion in which the researcher will pose open-ended questions to encourage students to reflect on the content.
| Study group | Role | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
| Experimantal Group: Vodcast-Based Peer Bullying Intervention | Students in the intervention group will participate in a vodcast-based peer bullying prevention program, consisting of a total of five sessions, with one session held per week. Receives: Behavioral: Vodcast-Based Peer Bullying Intervention | |
| Control Group | Students in the control group will follow the routine procedure; once the post-test data collection is complete, the program designed for the intervention group will be presented in a single-day session for any students who wish to view it. |
