About this study
Official title: Impact of Spinal, Epidural, and Combined Spinal Epidural Anesthesia on Quality of Recovery After Cesarean Delivery
The goal of this prospective observational study is to evaluate whether the type of neuraxial anesthesia is associated with postoperative quality of recovery in adult women undergoing cesarean delivery. The main questions it aims to answer are:
Does postoperative Obstetric Quality of Recovery differ according to the neuraxial anesthetic technique used for cesarean delivery? Researchers will compare women receiving spinal anesthesia, epidural anesthesia, or combined spinal-epidural anesthesia to determine whether the anesthetic technique is associated with differences in postoperative quality of recovery.

The anesthetic technique will be selected according to routine clinical practice, taking into account the patient's preference, clinical condition, and the attending anesthesiologist's assessment.
Participants will receive spinal, epidural, or combined spinal-epidural anesthesia as part of their routine clinical care.
Complete the Obstetric Quality of Recovery questionnaire 24 hours after cesarean delivery.
Have relevant demographic, obstetric, anesthetic, and perioperative clinical data recorded by the research team.
- Being tested
- Spinal anesthesia (heavy bupivacaine), epidural anesthesia, combine spinal epidural anesthesia
- Keywords
- Obstetric quality of recovery, Neuroaxial anesthesia, Spinal anesthesia, Epidural anesthesia, Combine spinal epidural anesthesia
What participants receive
What participants receive. In a randomised study each person is assigned to one group by chance.
Spinal anesthesia (heavy bupivacaine)Other
Spinal anesthesia- 10-12 mg heavy marcaine+ 20 mcg fentanile depends on height
epidural anesthesiaOther
epidural catater placement- l3-l4. epidural bolus 15cc %0.5 bupivacaine 50mcg fentanil (total 16cc). after cs epidural pca was used.
combine spinal epidural anesthesiaOther
l3-4 combine spinal epidural set was used. 10-12mg heavy marcaine 20 mcg fentanyl with spinal anesthesia. after cs epidural pca was used
| Study group | Role | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
| Ceserean-Spinal | Cesarean section under spinal anesthesia Receives: Other: Spinal anesthesia (heavy bupivacaine) | |
| Ceserean-Epidural | Cesarean section under epidural anesthesia Receives: Other: epidural anesthesia | |

What is being measured
The primary outcome is the main question the study is designed to answer.
ObsQoR score
The primary outcome will be the Obstetric Quality of Recovery score. The score will be assessed using the Obstetric Quality of Recovery questionnaire. Max score 110- min score 0
Measured: 24 hours after cesarean delivery.
Secondary outcomes (2)
Rescue Analgesia
Measured: first 24 hours
Numeric rating scale (NRS)
Numeric rating scale (NRS) no pain:0 / worst pain:10

The full registered description is in the About this study section and the official record.
Who may be eligible to take part?
The sponsor lists 1 inclusion and 1 exclusion criteria. Eligibility is decided by the study team after screening, so read the full criteria and contact a listed site.
Is this clinical trial currently recruiting?

What does the primary outcome measure?
ObsQoR score (time frame: 24 hours after cesarean delivery.). It is what the study was designed to measure, not a finding.
Where can I read the original study information?
Does a listing mean the treatment is approved or proven to work?
No. A listing means the study is registered. It does not show that the treatment is safe, works, or is approved by a regulator.
How often is this information updated?
AzTrials copies changed records from ClinicalTrials.gov every night and reloads the whole registry every week. The sponsor last updated this record on 27 Oct 2026.
