About this study

Official title: A Phase 1b/2 Study Investigating MagSense® Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER2) Imaging Agent (MSH2IA) Using Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Participants With HER2+ Breast Cancer for the Assessment of Tumor Involvement in the Lymph Nodes (MSH2IA Phase 1b/2 Study)

This Phase 1b/2 study is designed as an open-label, multicenter, 3 group, interventional study in which Phase 1b will evaluate the pharmacokinetics (PK) of MSH2IA and Phase 2 will confirm lowest effective dose as well as evaluate image timing, and diagnostic performance of a selected dose of MSH2IA when administered by subareolar or peritumoral injection.

No hypothesis testing is planned. Comparative statistics will be used to generate hypotheses to be tested in subsequent studies.

What is being measured

The primary outcome is the main question the study is designed to answer.

  1. Phase 1b: Level of Fe in blood

PK MSH2IA Fe concentration > LLOQ in human whole blood

    Measured: 24 hours post injection

  2. Phase 2 (Imaging Schedule): Dose and Imaging schedule for MSH2IA

MSH2IA dose to image suspicious versus normal nodes and Post dose MRI imaging timing

    Measured: 24 hours post injection

  3. Phase 2 (Diagnostic Performance): Diagnostic performance comparison between MSH2IA and SOC

Patient level concordance of MSH2IA imaging to clinical pathology and Patient level concordance of MSH2IA to AxUS as measured by PPV, NPV, and Overall Predictive Concordance (PPV+NPV).

    Measured: 24 hours post injection

Secondary outcomes (1)
  1. Safety and Tolerability of MSH2IA Across All Phases

All Phases: Assess safety and tolerability of MSH2IA Incidence and severity of AEs, serious adverse events and Injection site reactions (ISRs)

Measured: From baseline through 1 year

Questions about this trial

What is this clinical trial studying?

A Phase 1/2 study testing The MagSense® HER2 Imaging Agent (MSH2IA) in people with HER2-positive Breast Cancer, run by Imagion Biosystems, Inc..

The full registered description is in the About this study section and the official record.

Who may be eligible to take part?

The sponsor lists 8 inclusion and 12 exclusion criteria. Eligibility is decided by the study team after screening, so read the full criteria and contact a listed site.

Is this clinical trial currently recruiting?

The record says: opening soon, as of the sponsor's last update on 21 Oct 2026. Status can change between updates, so confirm with the study contact before making plans.

What are the possible benefits and risks?

They depend on the study and the treatment, and no study can promise a benefit. The study team explains the known risks during informed consent, before anyone joins; the record itself does not list them.

What does this combined phase mean?

Phase 1 studies test a treatment in a small group of people for the first time or in a new way, mainly to check safety and find the right dose.

Phase 2 studies give the treatment to a larger group to see whether it has the intended effect and to keep checking safety.

Not every study follows the same path, and some studies (observational studies, device studies) have no phase.

Are results available for this study?

This study is still under way. Results are not available in the source record yet.

How can a doctor refer a patient or contact the research team?

Contact Mohammad Eghtedari, M.D., Ph.D. (626-739-8446, meghtedari@coh.org), or a site near the patient. AzTrials does not enrol participants or take referrals.

What does the primary outcome measure?

Phase 1b: Level of Fe in blood (time frame: 24 hours post injection). The study lists 3 primary outcomes in all. It is what the study was designed to measure, not a finding.

Where can I read the original study information?

On the ClinicalTrials.gov record for NCT07885683, which also lists 12 linked publications.

Does a listing mean the treatment is approved or proven to work?

No. A listing means the study is registered. It does not show that the treatment is safe, works, or is approved by a regulator.

How often is this information updated?

AzTrials copies changed records from ClinicalTrials.gov every night and reloads the whole registry every week. The sponsor last updated this record on 21 Oct 2026.
