About this study

Official title: Acute Effects of Integrated Myofascial Release Therapy on Regional Thoracoabdominal Mobility and Thoracic Excursion in Healthy Adults

his study will investigate the immediate effects of an integrated myofascial release intervention on regional thoracoabdominal mobility in healthy adults. Participants will undergo baseline assessments followed by a single standardized session of integrated myofascial release therapy targeting selected thoracic and abdominal myofascial regions. Thoracoabdominal mobility and thoracic excursion will be reassessed immediately after the intervention. The primary aim is to determine whether integrated myofascial release produces acute changes in regional thoracoabdominal mobility. The study is intended to characterize the immediate biomechanical response to the intervention in healthy adults.

What participants receive

What participants receive. In a randomised study each person is assigned to one group by chance.

  • Integrated Myofascial Release TherapyOther

Participants will receive one standardized session of integrated myofascial release therapy applied manually to selected thoracic and abdominal myofascial regions. The intervention will include sustained, low-load manual techniques directed at the soft tissues and fascial structures of the thoracoabdominal region. The same standardized treatment sequence will be applied to all participants by a trained physiotherapist. Regional thoracoabdominal mobility and thoracic excursion will be assessed immediately before and immediately after the intervention.

What is being measured

The primary outcome is the main question the study is designed to answer.

  1. Change in Regional Thoracoabdominal Excursion

Regional thoracoabdominal excursion will be assessed using a tape measure at predefined anatomical levels of the thorax and abdomen. At each level, the difference in circumference between maximal inspiration and maximal expiration will be recorded in centimeters. Changes from baseline to immediately after the integrated myofascial release intervention will be analyzed separately for each anatomical level, allowing comparison of regional mobility responses.

Measured: Baseline and immediately after the intervention

Questions about this trial

What is this clinical trial studying?

A study testing Integrated Myofascial Release Therapy in people with Thoracoabdominal Mobility, run by Karabuk University at 1 site in Turkey (Türkiye).

The full registered description is in the About this study section and the official record.

Who may be eligible to take part?

The sponsor lists 11 inclusion and 0 exclusion criteria. Eligibility is decided by the study team after screening, so read the full criteria and contact a listed site.

Is this clinical trial currently recruiting?

The record says: opening soon, as of the sponsor's last update on 1 Oct 2026. Status can change between updates, so confirm with the study contact before making plans.

Where is the study taking place?

The record lists 1 site in Turkey (Türkiye). Whether a site is taking part right now should be confirmed with that site. See every site.

What are the possible benefits and risks?

They depend on the study and the treatment, and no study can promise a benefit. The study team explains the known risks during informed consent, before anyone joins; the record itself does not list them.

Are results available for this study?

This study is still under way. Results are not available in the source record yet.

How can a doctor refer a patient or contact the research team?

Contact Ece Acar, PhD, PT (+905457925035, eceacar@karabuk.edu.tr), or a site near the patient. AzTrials does not enrol participants or take referrals.

What does the primary outcome measure?

Change in Regional Thoracoabdominal Excursion (time frame: Baseline and immediately after the intervention). It is what the study was designed to measure, not a finding.

Where can I read the original study information?

On the ClinicalTrials.gov record for NCT07852507, which also lists 3 linked publications.

Does a listing mean the treatment is approved or proven to work?

No. A listing means the study is registered. It does not show that the treatment is safe, works, or is approved by a regulator.

How often is this information updated?

AzTrials copies changed records from ClinicalTrials.gov every night and reloads the whole registry every week. The sponsor last updated this record on 1 Oct 2026.
