About this study
Official title: Awarness of Preeclampsia and Its Associated Factors Among Pregnant Women in Sohag University Hospital
Preeclampsia is a major pregnancy-related hypertensive disorder and a leading cause of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality worldwide, particularly in developing regions. Adequate maternal awareness of preeclampsia symptoms and risk factors is crucial for early detection and timely medical intervention.
Objectives: This study aims to assess the level of awareness regarding preeclampsia, its warning signs, and its associated risk factors among pregnant women attending the antenatal care (ANC) clinic at Sohag University Hospital, and to identify socio-demographic factors associated with their awareness levels.

What is being measured
The primary outcome is the main question the study is designed to answer.
Preeclampsia Knowledge score
Assessed using an investigator-administered, validated, close-ended questionnaire covering preeclampsia awareness, risk factors, signs/symptoms, and complications. Each correct response receives 1 point, while incorrect or "don't know" responses receive 0 points. Scores are expressed as percentages and categorized into adequate knowledge (≥60%) and inadequate knowledge (<60%).
Measured: Baseline (at admission to the department or attendance at the outpatient clinic)
