About this study

Official title: Comparison Between Cerebroplacental Ratio (CPR) and Amniotic-Umbilical-to-Cerebral Ratio (AUCR), in Predicting of Adverse Perinatal Outcome in Women With Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy.

The primary aim of this study is to evaluate the predictive value of the Amniotic-Umbilical-to-Cerebral Ratio (AUCR) in predicting composite adverse perinatal outcomes in women with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and to compare its predictive performance with the traditional Cerebroplacental Ratio (CPR)

Read the detailed description

A prospective cohort study will be conducted to compare the predictive accuracy of the cerebroplacental ratio (CPR) and the amniotic-umbilical-to-cerebral ratio (AUCR) for composite adverse perinatal outcomes among women with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.

obstetric doppler indices in hypertensive disorder with pregnancyA prospective cohort study will be conducted to compare the predictive accuracy of the cerebroplacental ratio (CPR) and the amniotic-umbilical-to-cerebral ratio (AUCR) for composite adverse perinatal outcomes among women with hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.Fetal ultrasonographic measurements, including deepest vertical pocket (DVP) for amniotic fluid, and Doppler parameters including UtA systolic/diastolic (S/D) and pulsatility index (PI), MCA S/D and PI, and UA S/D and PI, will conducted following fetal biometry EFW was computed. CPR was determined using the ratio of MCA PI to UA PI.8 UCR will calculated as the inverse of CPR, the ratio of UA PI to MCA PI.11 CPUR was determined using the ratio of CPR to UtA PI.13 The DVP method will implemented to estimate the amniotic fluid volume.19 The AUCR will calculated as the ratio of DVP to UA PI/MCA PI

What is being measured

The primary outcome is the main question the study is designed to answer.

  1. number of cases with NICU admission

number of neonates admitted in neonatal care unit within 24 hours after delivery

    Measured: 6 weeks

Secondary outcomes (1)
  1. weight of birth

birth weight in grams after delivery

    Measured: 1 day

An observational study of Hypertension Disorders in Pregnancy, run by Assiut University.

The full registered description is in the About this study section and the official record.

Who may be eligible to take part?

The sponsor lists 5 inclusion and 4 exclusion criteria. Eligibility is decided by the study team after screening, so read the full criteria and contact a listed site.

How can a doctor refer a patient or contact the research team?

Contact Abdelrahman Mahmoud, MD (08802089519, abdelrahman_mahmoud2@aun.edu.eg), or a site near the patient. AzTrials does not enrol participants or take referrals.

What does the primary outcome measure?

number of cases with NICU admission (time frame: 6 weeks). It is what the study was designed to measure, not a finding.

Where can I read the original study information?
Does a listing mean the treatment is approved or proven to work?

No. A listing means the study is registered. It does not show that the treatment is safe, works, or is approved by a regulator.

How often is this information updated?
