About this study
Official title: Intraoperative Glycemic Variability and the Risk of Infectious Complications After Elective Liver Transplantation: A Prospective Cohort Study
This study aims to evaluate whether intraoperative glycemic variability (GV) is independently associated with the risk of infectious complications within 30 days after elective liver transplantation. This is an observational study with no intervention beyond standard perioperative care. Glycemic and clinical outcome data will be obtained from routinely collected medical records of patients undergoing liver transplantation at the 2nd Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, Medical University of Warsaw.

What is being measured
The primary outcome is the main question the study is designed to answer.
Occurrence of at least one infectious complication within 30 days after liver transplantation
Binary outcome (yes/no), including: pneumonia (clinical, radiological, and microbiological criteria), urinary tract infection (clinical symptoms + positive urine culture), surgical site infection per CDC criteria, sepsis/septic shock per Sepsis-3 criteria.
Measured: 30 days

An observational study of Liver Transplantation (LT), run by Medical University of Warsaw at 1 site in Poland.
The full registered description is in the About this study section and the official record.
Who may be eligible to take part?
The sponsor lists 2 inclusion and 8 exclusion criteria. Eligibility is decided by the study team after screening, so read the full criteria and contact a listed site.
Is this clinical trial currently recruiting?
The record says: opening soon, as of the sponsor's last update on 26 Aug 2026. Status can change between updates, so confirm with the study contact before making plans.
Where is the study taking place?
The record lists 1 site in Poland. Whether a site is taking part right now should be confirmed with that site. See every site.

This study is still under way. Results are not available in the source record yet.
How can a doctor refer a patient or contact the research team?
Contact Paula Dudek, MD (+225992002, paula.dudek@wum.edu.pl), or a site near the patient. AzTrials does not enrol participants or take referrals.
What does the primary outcome measure?
Occurrence of at least one infectious complication within 30 days after liver transplantation (time frame: 30 days). It is what the study was designed to measure, not a finding.
Where can I read the original study information?
Does a listing mean the treatment is approved or proven to work?
No. A listing means the study is registered. It does not show that the treatment is safe, works, or is approved by a regulator.
How often is this information updated?
AzTrials copies changed records from ClinicalTrials.gov every night and reloads the whole registry every week. The sponsor last updated this record on 26 Aug 2026.
