About this study
Official title: A Study to Evaluate the Relative Bioavailability of Multiple Formulations of MK-4082 in Overweight/Obese Participants
Researchers are looking for new weight loss medicines for people with higher body weight. The study medicine, MK-4082, is different from similar weight loss medicines because people take it as a pill instead of an injection. Before giving a study medicine to people with a health condition, researchers first do studies to find a safe dose level (amount) and formulation (version) of the study medicine that can be used in future studies.
The goals of this study are to learn about:
The safety of different formulations of MK-4082 and if people tolerate them What happens to different formulations of MK-4082 in a person's body over time

What is being measured
The primary outcome is the main question the study is designed to answer.
Number of Participants Who Experience an Adverse Event (AE)
An AE is any untoward medical occurrence in a clinical study participant, temporally associated with the use of study intervention, whether or not considered related to the study intervention. The number of participants who experience an AE will be reported.
Measured: Up to approximately 8 weeks
Number of Participants Who Discontinue Study Treatment Due to an AE
An AE is any untoward medical occurrence in a clinical study participant, temporally associated with the use of study intervention, whether or not considered related to the study intervention. The number of participants who discontinue study treatment due to an AE will be reported.
Measured: Up to approximately 6 weeks
Secondary outcomes (2)
Area Under the Curve from Time 0 to 24 hours (AUC0-24) of MK-4082
Blood samples will be collected to determine the AUC0-24 of MK-4082.
Measured: At designated timepoints (up to 24 hours postdose)
Plasma Concentration at 24 Hours (C24) of MK-4082
Blood samples will be collected to determine the C24 of MK-4082.
Measured: At designated timepoints up to 24 hours postdose

Questions about this trial
What is this clinical trial studying?
A Phase 1 study testing MK-4082 Formulation 1 (F1), MK-4082 Formulation 2 (F2) and MK-4082 Formulation 4 (F4) in people with Healthy, run by Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC at 2 sites in United States.
The full registered description is in the About this study section and the official record.
Who may be eligible to take part?
The sponsor lists 3 inclusion and 3 exclusion criteria. Eligibility is decided by the study team after screening, so read the full criteria and contact a listed site.
Is this clinical trial currently recruiting?
The record says: under way, not looking for participants, as of the sponsor's last update on 23 Sep 2026. Status can change between updates, so confirm with the study contact before making plans.
Where is the study taking place?
The record lists 2 sites in United States. Whether a site is taking part right now should be confirmed with that site. See every site.
What are the possible benefits and risks?
They depend on the study and the treatment, and no study can promise a benefit. The study team explains the known risks during informed consent, before anyone joins; the record itself does not list them.
What does this phase mean?
Phase 1 studies test a treatment in a small group of people for the first time or in a new way, mainly to check safety and find the right dose.
Not every study follows the same path, and some studies (observational studies, device studies) have no phase.
Are results available for this study?
This study is still under way. Results are not available in the source record yet.
How can a doctor refer a patient or contact the research team?
The record lists no contact. The official record names the sponsor, who can be asked directly. AzTrials does not enrol participants or take referrals.
What does the primary outcome measure?
Number of Participants Who Experience an Adverse Event (AE) (time frame: Up to approximately 8 weeks). The study lists 2 primary outcomes in all. It is what the study was designed to measure, not a finding.
Where can I read the original study information?
Does a listing mean the treatment is approved or proven to work?
No. A listing means the study is registered. It does not show that the treatment is safe, works, or is approved by a regulator.
How often is this information updated?
AzTrials copies changed records from ClinicalTrials.gov every night and reloads the whole registry every week. The sponsor last updated this record on 23 Sep 2026; AzTrials last refreshed its copy on 8 Nov 2026.
