About this study

Official title: Percutaneous Coronary Intervention of Calcified Lesions and the Use of Artificial Intelligence to Predict Successful Outcome

The primary aim of this study is to evaluate changes in absolute coronary flow and pressure before and after percutaneous coronary intervention in calcified lesions. The secondary aim is to use a machine learning model to predict the outcome of the intervention.

Being tested
Measurement of coronary flow and pressure
Medical subject headings
Myocardial Ischemia

What participants receive

What participants receive. In a randomised study each person is assigned to one group by chance.

  • Measurement of coronary flow and pressureDiagnostic test

The pressure and flow data will be integrated in a machine learning model

What is being measured

The primary outcome is the main question the study is designed to answer.

  1. Post-PCI FFR

FFR is measured after PCI is completed.

    Measured: Immediately after the procedure

What is this clinical trial studying?

An observational study of Coronary Arterial Disease (CAD) and Ischemic Heart Disease (IHD), run by Aalborg University Hospital at 1 site in Denmark.

The full registered description is in the About this study section and the official record.

Who may be eligible to take part?

The sponsor lists 4 inclusion and 5 exclusion criteria. Eligibility is decided by the study team after screening, so read the full criteria and contact a listed site.

How can a doctor refer a patient or contact the research team?

Contact Ashkan Eftekhari, MD PhD (+4597664465, asef@rn.dk), or a site near the patient. AzTrials does not enrol participants or take referrals.

What does the primary outcome measure?

Post-PCI FFR (time frame: Immediately after the procedure). It is what the study was designed to measure, not a finding.

Where can I read the original study information?
Does a listing mean the treatment is approved or proven to work?

No. A listing means the study is registered. It does not show that the treatment is safe, works, or is approved by a regulator.
