About this study

Official title: Placenta Accreta Spectrum VS Uterine Scar Dehiscence: Accurate Ultrasound Model in 3rd Trimester Pregnancies for Percise Diagnosis

Being tested
2D ultrasound doppler
Medical subject headings
Placenta Accreta

What participants receive

What participants receive. In a randomised study each person is assigned to one group by chance.

  • 2D ultrasound dopplerDevice

using 2d ultrasound doppler to form a model that will help distinguish between placenta accreta spectrum and uterine scar dehiscence pre-operatively

What is being measured

The primary outcome is the main question the study is designed to answer.

  1. Model for percise diagnosis of placenta accreta spectrum Using 2d and/or 3d ultrasound doppler to assess: Placental site

Measured: (gestational age 28wk-full term) till operation

  2. Model for percise diagnosis of placenta accreta spectrum Using 2d and/or 3d ultrasound doppler to assess: placental thickness

Measured: (gestational age 28wk- full term) till operation

  3. Model for percise diagnosis of placenta accreta spectrum Using 2d and/or 3d ultrasound doppler to assess: placental size

Measured: (gestational age 28wk- fullterm) till operation

  4. Model for percise diagnosis of placenta accreta spectrum Using 2d and/or 3d ultrasound doppler to assess: placental lacunae

Measured: (gestational age 28wk-full term) till operation

  5. Model for percise diagnosis of placenta accreta spectrum Using 2d and/or 3d ultrasound doppler to assess: Loss of placental hypoechoic zone

Measured: (gestattional age 28wk-full term) till operation

  6. Model for percise diagnosis of placenta accreta spectrum Using 2d and/or 3d ultrasound doppler to assess: Mean systolic velocity in both uterine arteries

Measured: (gestational age 28wks-full term) till time of operation

  7. Model for percise diagnosis of placenta accreta spectrum Using 2d and/or 3d ultrasound doppler to assess: Peak systolic velocity in uteroplacental interface

Measured: (gestational age 28wks- full term) till operation

  8. Model for percise diagnosis of placenta accreta spectrum Using 2d and/or 3d ultrasound doppler to assess: Peak systolic velocity in uterovesical interface

Measured: (gestational age 28wks- full term) ill operation

Secondary outcomes (8)
  1. precise diagnosis of uterine dehiscence Using 2d and/or 3d ultrasound doppler to assess: Placental site

Measured: (gestational age 28wk- fullterm) till operation

  2. precise diagnosis of uterine dehiscence Using 2d and/or 3d ultrasound doppler to assess: Placental size

Measured: (gestational age 28wk- full term)till the operation

  3. precise diagnosis of uterine dehiscence Using 2d and/or 3d ultrasound doppler to assess: Placental thickness

Measured: (gestational age 28wk-full term) till operation

  4. precise diagnosis of uterine dehiscence Using 2d and/or 3d ultrasound doppler to assess: Placental lacunae

Measured: (gestational age 28wk- fullterm) till operation

  5. precise diagnosis of uterine dehiscence Using 2d and/or 3d ultrasound doppler to assess: Loss of placental hypoechoic zone

Measured: (gestational age 28wks - fullterm) till operation

  6. precise diagnosis of uterine dehiscence Using 2d and/or 3d ultrasound doppler to assess: Mean systolic velocity in both uterine arteries

Measured: (gestational age 28wk- fullterm) till operation

  7. precise diagnosis of uterine dehiscence Using 2d and/or 3d ultrasound doppler to assess: Peak systolic velocity in uteroplacental interface

Measured: (gestational age 28wk- fullterm) till operation

  8. precise diagnosis of uterine dehiscence Using 2d and/or 3d ultrasound doppler to assess: Peak systolic velocity in uterovesical interface

Questions about this trial

What is this clinical trial studying?

An observational study of Placenta Accreta, Third Trimester and Uterine Scar Dehiscence, run by Assiut University.

The full registered description is in the About this study section and the official record.

Who may be eligible to take part?

The sponsor lists 4 inclusion and 1 exclusion criteria. Eligibility is decided by the study team after screening, so read the full criteria and contact a listed site.

Is this clinical trial currently recruiting?

The record says: opening soon, as of the sponsor's last update on 19 Nov 2025. Status can change between updates, so confirm with the study contact before making plans.

What are the possible benefits and risks?

They depend on the study and the treatment, and no study can promise a benefit. The study team explains the known risks during informed consent, before anyone joins; the record itself does not list them.

Are results available for this study?

This study is still under way. Results are not available in the source record yet.

How can a doctor refer a patient or contact the research team?

Contact Mostafa A Askalany (+201022554284, mostafaaskalany90@yahoo.com), or a site near the patient. AzTrials does not enrol participants or take referrals.

What does the primary outcome measure?

Model for percise diagnosis of placenta accreta spectrum Using 2d and/or 3d ultrasound doppler to assess: Placental site (time frame: (gestational age 28wk-full term) till operation). The study lists 8 primary outcomes in all. It is what the study was designed to measure, not a finding.

Where can I read the original study information?
Does a listing mean the treatment is approved or proven to work?

No. A listing means the study is registered. It does not show that the treatment is safe, works, or is approved by a regulator.

How often is this information updated?

AzTrials copies changed records from ClinicalTrials.gov every night and reloads the whole registry every week. The sponsor last updated this record on 19 Nov 2025; AzTrials last refreshed its copy on 6 Nov 2026.
