About this study
Official title: Progressive Elaboration Framework of Mortality Outcomes in Controlled Hypertension: A Qualitative Evidence Synthesis Systematic Review and Individual Participant Data Meta-Analysis 1
This review focuses on the assumption of mortality outcome of participants remaining label hypertension care is adequately managed when pressure targets are met with both qualitative and quantitaive method.
Read the detailed description
For systematically review and synthesize the literature on main 2 questions
- Why do mortality outcomes still occur despite intervention of high blood pressure?
- What is the framework of high blood pressure death?
For Individual Participant Data Meta-analysis will be attracted from final analysis articles from the framework of data selection process only, the effect measurement and multi-variable model meta-analysis will be performed.
Sub-group analysis effect measurement following;
- Types and causes of death in patients with well-controlled hypertension.
- Underlying evidence or proposed mechanisms, biological markers, or comorbid conditions contribute to death despite optimal treatment.
- Treatment-related limitations, co-factors, and syndromes leading to uncontrolled fatal outcomes.
- Analyze possible mechanisms of cardiovascular death in controllable even intensive blood pressure control participants.
- Conditions
- Hypertension, Morality, Death, Pre-Eclampsia, Cardiovascular Diseases, Stroke
- Keywords
- Controlled blood pressure, Mortality outcomes
- Medical subject headings
- Hypertension, Death, Pre-Eclampsia, Cardiovascular Diseases, Stroke, Kidney Diseases, Maternal Death

What is being measured
The primary outcome is the main question the study is designed to answer.
All-cause vascular mortality
Cardiovascular mortality (Cardiac-related death in controlled hypertension patients), cerebrovascular death(Stroke-related fatal outcomes in BP-controlled patients), renal occlusion/rupture/failure causing death (Mortality from renal failure in treated, controlled hypertensives), life-threatening vascular rupture, Major Adverse Cardiovascular Death or
Measured: Day one until last follow up at least 24 hour to study completion date at least 30 days outcomes but not over 10 years
Secondary outcomes (5)
Sudden death
Death suddenly with autopsy or complete CPR during collapse of cardiac or respiratory or brain arrested
Measured: Day one until last follow up at least 24 hour to study completion date at least 30 days outcomes but not over 10 years
End-organ failure leading to death
Vascular abnormality causing failure of organ leading death with evidence by imaging, laboratory investigation or autopsy
Measured: 90 days outcomes after participant recruitment (death/alive)
ICU death
Systemic arterial hypertension is the main reason for admission at critical care unit report death
Measured: 90 days outcomes start with day 1 admit at ICU (death/alive)
Maternal associated hypertension death
Mortality outcomes of hypertension during pregnancy both from gynecologic organ failure or systemic organ failure
Measured: During pregnancy period from GA 1 week to delivery (pre-term, term-post-term) to 6 week follow up postpartum
Hypertension associated death in the young
Mortality outcomes that clear defined high blood pressure of that age and declared mortality cause during or after any type of treatment
Measured: Day one until last follow up at least 24 hour to study completion date at least 30 days outcomes but not over 18 years of ages of participant

The full registered description is in the About this study section and the official record.
Who may be eligible to take part?
The sponsor lists 9 inclusion and 8 exclusion criteria. Eligibility is decided by the study team after screening, so read the full criteria and contact a listed site.
Is this clinical trial currently recruiting?
The record says: under way, not looking for participants, as of the sponsor's last update on 29 Jul 2026. Status can change between updates, so confirm with the study contact before making plans.
Where is the study taking place?
The record lists 1 site in Thailand. Whether a site is taking part right now should be confirmed with that site. See every site.
What are the possible benefits and risks?
They depend on the study and the treatment, and no study can promise a benefit. The study team explains the known risks during informed consent, before anyone joins; the record itself does not list them.
Are results available for this study?
This study is still under way. Results are not available in the source record yet.
How can a doctor refer a patient or contact the research team?
The record lists no contact. The official record names the sponsor, who can be asked directly. AzTrials does not enrol participants or take referrals.
What does the primary outcome measure?
All-cause vascular mortality (time frame: Day one until last follow up at least 24 hour to study completion date at least 30 days outcomes but not over 10 years). It is what the study was designed to measure, not a finding.
Where can I read the original study information?
Does a listing mean the treatment is approved or proven to work?
No. A listing means the study is registered. It does not show that the treatment is safe, works, or is approved by a regulator.
How often is this information updated?
AzTrials copies changed records from ClinicalTrials.gov every night and reloads the whole registry every week. The sponsor last updated this record on 29 Jul 2026.
