Trial summary

The aim of this study is to assess the physical fitness level of children with bronchiectasis. To determine your physical fitness level, we will conduct some game-like tests. These are completely fun and enjoyable tests (such as running or a sit-to-stand test). Additionally, we will ask you some questions. Read more about this study

About this study

Official title: Assessment of Physical Fitness Level and Its Relationship With Pulmonary Functions in Patients With Bronchiectasis

The aim of this study is to assess the physical fitness level of children with bronchiectasis. To determine your physical fitness level, we will conduct some game-like tests. These are completely fun and enjoyable tests (such as running or a sit-to-stand test). Additionally, we will ask you some questions. These questions will help us get to know you better and understand how much you enjoy exercise. To measure your growth level, we will weigh you using a scale. We will also assess your muscle strength using a special device. All these tests will help us understand how much your condition affects you.

What is being measured

The primary outcome is the main question the study is designed to answer.

  1. FitnessGram Physical Activity Test Battery

Measured: Baseline (day of enrollment) assessment

  2. Pulmonary function test

Measured: Baseline (day of enrollment) assessment

  3. Peripheral Muscle Strength

Measured: Baseline (day of enrollment) assessment

Secondary outcomes (1)
  1. Physical Activity Level

Physical activity level will be assessed using the Children's Physical Activity Questionnaire (CPAQ) developed by Kowalski et al. In this study, the Turkish version of the questionnaire, whose validity and reliability were established by Erdim et al., will be used . The scale evaluates physical activities (PA) performed in the past 7 days and their frequency. Responses are given on a five-point scale, where 5 indicates the highest and 1 the lowest level of physical activity. The total score of the questionnaire is calculated by averaging the scores from 9 questions. A higher score indicates a higher level of physical activity.

Measured: Baseline (day of enrollment) assessment

Questions about this trial

What is this clinical trial studying?

An observational study of Pediatric Patients With Bronchiectasis, run by Melis Usul at 2 sites in Turkey (Türkiye).

The full registered description is in the About this study section and the official record.

Who may be eligible to take part?

The sponsor lists 3 inclusion and 4 exclusion criteria. Eligibility is decided by the study team after screening, so read the full criteria and contact a listed site.

Is this clinical trial currently recruiting?

The record says: finished, as of the sponsor's last update on 3 Nov 2026. Status can change between updates, so confirm with the study contact before making plans.

Where is the study taking place?

The record lists 2 sites in Turkey (Türkiye). Whether a site is taking part right now should be confirmed with that site. See every site.

What are the possible benefits and risks?

They depend on the study and the treatment, and no study can promise a benefit. The study team explains the known risks during informed consent, before anyone joins; the record itself does not list them.

Are results available for this study?

The study is completed, but results are not available in the source record. That does not mean the treatment did or did not work.

How can a doctor refer a patient or contact the research team?

The record lists no contact. The official record names the sponsor, who can be asked directly. AzTrials does not enrol participants or take referrals.

What does the primary outcome measure?

FitnessGram Physical Activity Test Battery (time frame: Baseline (day of enrollment) assessment). The study lists 3 primary outcomes in all. It is what the study was designed to measure, not a finding.

Where can I read the original study information?
Does a listing mean the treatment is approved or proven to work?

No. A listing means the study is registered. It does not show that the treatment is safe, works, or is approved by a regulator.

How often is this information updated?

AzTrials copies changed records from ClinicalTrials.gov every night and reloads the whole registry every week. The sponsor last updated this record on 3 Nov 2026.
